At NAMM 2025, held from January 23 to 25 in Anaheim, California, Rhodes Music unveiled several significant developments:
MIDI-Integrated MK8 Piano: Rhodes introduced an enhanced version of their flagship MK8 piano, now featuring integrated MIDI capabilities. This upgrade utilizes proprietary sensing technology to provide high-resolution monitoring of key positions, supporting both channel and polyphonic aftertouch. This advancement offers musicians greater expressive control and dynamic range during performances and studio sessions.
61-Key Stage Piano Prototype: The company showcased a prototype of a new 61-key stage piano, designed for portability without compromising the iconic Rhodes sound. This instrument returns to the basics, featuring components reminiscent of original designs from the ’60s to the early ’80s, such as tines, tone bars, and pickups. It sports a Mark V look with basic treble and bass tone knobs and lacks additional effects like tremolo or EQ, allowing musicians to use their preferred amplification setups. The Stage 61 is lightweight, making it ideal for gigging musicians. It is available for pre-order at $6,995, with a lead time of six to nine months.
JC Design helped with both projects and look forward to what the future holds for Rhodes Music Group!
